Who Am I?
Hi! My name is Kristin. I’m a mom of two crazy boys (often known as Little Man and B). My husband Aaron and I have been married since October of 2011. However, it is safe to say that the heart of our family is our Boston Terrier, Wrigley.
By day I am a Social Team Lead at a digital marketing company. In my “free time” if I’m not chasing around a child, chances are I’m running, reading, knitting or rocking my skin care business.
I’ve always been fascinated by the internet, I’ve written in online diaries, xangas, live journals and blogs since 1998. With something new to learn every single day I’m amazed when I look back on the last 22 years I’ve spent online. Creating content has been my biggest joy and regardless of where life takes me I always find myself coming back to it.
Why From The Kitchen Of?
At one of our Wedding showers I was gifted with a number of recipes from family and friends along with my Grandma’s box of recipes. As someone who RARELY cooked these were inspiration for getting into the kitchen. I set aside a few recipes to make.
Then life happened. To be honest, the box of recipes and all of our other recipe books wound up in a cabinet.
In November of 2018 we worked to diagnose some food intolerance B had. This gave me more insight into food and was the kick in the butt I needed to start spending more time in the kitchen. I began to navigate an entire world of Gluten Free thanks to Pinterest and Google.
Jumping ahead to January of 2020, we began to prepare for our annual family cook-off. The theme was chicken. Thinking I had nothing to use I asked my friends about their recipes. A recipe shared by my friend Teresa lead to a discussion of these old family favorites. The handwriting, lack of actual measurements, ways you used to buy meat, etc.
I woke up at 4am one day with the idea of “From The Kitchen Of”, it was time to give these old recipes some new life.
